The Athens State Orchestra’s 2012 campaign was inspired by the man seen as a creator. It is developed in a series of illustrations that run throughout the year. Since the musicians are the Orchestra’s soul, we decided to bring them to the foreground and focus on their hands; the means by which they produce music. The inverted scale communicates optimism and encourages human aptitude.

We were commissioned by the curators, Maria-Thalia Carras and Sofia Tournikioti, to design the identity and exhibition catalog of “SilentSpaceStandStill” – an exhibition exploring the use of sound.
Held at the The Tzisdaraki Mosque in Monastiraki Square, “SilentSpaceStandStill” investigates and explores various strategies used by four different artists who each use the medium of sound as a tool in the worlds that they construct.
The concept for the exhibition’s identity was based on the idea of visualizing sound. Our inspiration came primarily from the circular arrangements of the Mosque’s architecture and secondly from Ernst Chladni – a German physicist and musician.
One of Chladni’s best-known achievements was inventing a technique to show the various modes of vibration of a rigid surface. It consisted of drawing a bow over a piece of metal whose surface was lightly covered with sand. The plate was bowed until it reached resonance, when the vibration causes the sand to move and concentrate along the nodal lines where the surface is still, outlining the nodal lines.
For our designs, we took those figures, altered them, colored with Mediterranean tones, created a series of patterns and gave a new mean to them.

We were commissioned by the Greek Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change to create the campaign of their new program “Shaping the Future”, which contains a number of subprograms in the fields of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources. We listened to nature’s needs. We talked to the environment with its own language and proceed actively to find solutions.
Since the terminology around renewable energy is at times nonsensical, our strategic thinking was to create an environmental dictionary where everything is made clear to the public.
Which language do you speak? Speaking Environmentally.
The campaign unfolds around the dual nature of the substance of the action: energy. Emotional and environmental action are now one, the public is required to make every effort to gain the most of the environment and its resources. The emotional and practical engagement brings fruits throughout the country because “we have the energy to change our energy.” We designed a modular logotype that evolves into a series of symbols dedicated to each subprogram. We also created the 12 profiles of the environmental ambassadors, pictured though a crisp lens.
The final outcome is transparent, collaborative and equilibrated
